National Disaster Reduction Day






Orissa Disaster preparedness Day and national Disaster Reduction Day was observed in the Panchayat Bhavan at Koraput today . Ashok pangi , the Zilla Parishad President of Koraput atytended the function as the chief guest . While children were given prizes by Orissa State Disaster Management Authority (OSMA) for their excellence in debate and essay competitions as a part of the observation , the highlight of the celebration was the breathtaking search& rescue operation demonstration made by the Civil Defense Volunteers . Earlier in the day school children had brought out a rally from Govt.High School to the Panchayat Bhavan to create awareness on the various aspects of disaster management .
