Air Force Platinum Jubilee was celebrated by Air Force LiasonEstablishment at HAL, Engine Division in Sunabeda on Monday night .Highlighting the glorious history of India Air Force , Wing CommanderB.V.S.Reddy said that the force which was started in 1932 with 6Royal Air Force Trained officers , 19 Hawai Sepoys(presently called asAirmen) and 4 Westland Wapiti Aircrafts had improved its positionover the years and was at present equipped with a trained populationof 1.2 Lakh airwarriors. Complementing the effort of India Air Forcefor extending help to the world at the time of need , he added thatAir Force in its inventory had nearly 1700 different types of aircrafts , various missile systems like air to air , air to ground andsurface to air missiles to its credit .Participating as the chief guest of the celebration , D.N.Vyas , theExecutive Director of HAL while appreciating the role of Air Forcein safeguarding the Nation's interest he assured to extend all thepossible assistance to its unit at Sunabeda . Officials from NAD, CISFand other officials from HAL took part in the celebration .Earlier in the day, various programmes like Sports meet , Drawingcompetition, Talent hunt and Quiz were organised among the familymembers of all personnel working at Sunabeda .(EOM)
