A trekking expedition was organized at Deomali hiils of Koraput district by the Indian Navy today . About 30 civilian lady employees of Easter Naval Command in Visakhapatnam walked to the top of the highest mountain peak of Orissa with a great enthusiasm . Even ladies in their late fifties like Rajalaxmi who are retiring in the near future from their services did not hesitate to climb the stiff mountain ignoring their age . Moreover narrating her experience , Deepti from the team said that this expedition to the top of Deomali had given her a thought to climb mountains of greater heights in Himalayas.
The programme was organized as a part of celebrating the “Year of Naval Civilians in Indian Navy” Lt.Cdr.hemant Walia , Senior Inspector of Naval Armament , Sunabeda said . I.yerakaya , PS of Eastern Naval Command in Visakhapatnam who had coordinated the entire programme also accompanied the trekking team .This posting is a gift to them from the people of Koraput.
