MY ENVIRONMENT and I

My Environment and I
No living things exists in isolation. It interacts with other living things and with it physical surroundings. The study of these relationships is called ecology communities exist almost everywhere whether on land, in rivers and in the oceans. A typical community contains a mixture of both abiotic and biotic components. All plants and animals are specially suited to live in their particular habitat. How can they become suited or adapted I the key to evolution.
Decades ago in Orissa, with the advent of the Industrial Revolution there had been material progress. Alongwith the material prosperity, humans experienced and witnessed a severe deterioration in the quality of world’s natural environment. The process of stripping Damanjodi which was bare of its natural wealth, which was begun at the 1980’s was speeded up by the rich and powerful NALCOnians. We live in an interlinked world. The nature of Damanjodi maintains a delicate balance with all living beings as well as plants.
NALCO has disposed the effluents and maintained a good ecological balance for the people of township to survive happily. The township, guided by the philosophy of Nature-friendly, human-friendly and environment friendly. Though earth is ailing but the saving graces in an township like Damanjodi. “Even a drop of good act can completely effect the larger scheme of things.”
So much so that today even the every life form is in grave danger. Global environment degradation is the result of human activities. In order to find solutions to the problems it is necessary that governments and people throughout the world work together on common goals. Land cover is affected by natural events including climate variation, flooding, vegetation succession and fire – all of which can sometimes be affected in character and magnitude by human activities.
The term land reclamation had for long meant the conversion of land from its natural cover but to today’s aware masses it is more often used t describe restoration and repair of land damaged by human use. Damanjodi has nature’s bounty. Being an Industrial township, it is located within the beautiful valleys and in the lap of nature.
Eventually, I would like to conclude that even if our planet Earth is ailing, my hometown, my township is sweet to me. There goes a dictum here that is “A green life” that will surely make the township of Damanjodi a heaven where pollution goes to hell.
