BAMBOO PLANTING BY
TRIBAL STUDENTS & THEIR PARENTS AT NALINI VIDYAMANDIR, BARIGUDA.
NALANI VIDYALAYA WAS STARTED IN THE YEAR 1995 up to 5th standard only with aid from Ministry of Tribal Development, Govt. of India. After successful results the president of the SNEH, Smt Suborna Ghose, a dedicated women social worker dared to increase the standard up to Xth with out any further aid from the Govt. She manages the school by raising fund from generous people for the noble cause. Today there are 255 inmates who are being provided free Boarding, Lodging, Uniforms, and Reading & Writing materials on free of cost. This is a unique school, where all students are Tribal (Dongria Kandh Tribe) and only Girls.
The school has produced 57 talented 10th pass girl students since last three years.
Sri AK. Sharda, Vice President (Pl & Rm.) of JK Paper Ltd and President Dandakaranya and Member of District Evaluation & Monitoring Committee of Eco-Clubs of Rayagada District. had visited the school once and was impressed so much that immediately he advised his members to initiate the Club. An Eco-Club was formed on 3rd of April-2008 with 55 Girl members. The President, Secretary and Treasurer of the Club were respectively Ms. Kunni Raita, Sumoni Bhunya and Ms. Kinda Kilaka. And Smt. Nupoor Mahanty, Teacher Incharge of the Club. And Sri BK. Das, Vice Principal is the Chairman of the Club.
Eco-Club installation programme was organisaed by Dandakaranya a NGO of Rayagada, at NALANI VIDYAMANDIR, Boriguda of Bisumcuttack Block.To mark the occasion Bamboo saplings were planted in the school agues by students and vy their parents.
Installation ceremony was observed by oath taking “To create awareness on planting and promoting trees among People of their villages and surroundings.” by all Eco-Club members of the school on 6th of April in presence of the Chief Guest, School Committee Members, Staff and members of Dandakaranya. There are 55 members, where all are Girls. They took an oath to protect, promote and preserve the Green coverage.
Sri AK. Sharda, Chief Guest for the occasion donated a Refrigerator for the Health programmes; Books for their Library. He asked the students, their parents and the school staff to become more conscious about their studies and their Environment.
At the end of the programme Bamboo saplings were planted by the students and their parents who were also present in the programme. The programme came to stand still after vote of thanks to the Chair rendered by Ms. Prabhati Manjari Behera, Science Teacher of the school.
Among the members present were the sarpanch of Bariguda Smt. Sasirekha Nemaka; Sri P Ganapati Rao, Ex sarpanch & School Committee meber, Sri Krushna Chandra Sahu, Advocate and School Committee meber; and Members of Dandakaranya along with their family members.
