Nation building with transforming people towards a conscious living was more important than constructing new temples and ashrams , Baba Balia , the spiritual leader of fame in the state said at Koraput today .
He was in his mission to create awareness on Democracy among masses and was at Koraput on the 27th day of his state wide journey which was flagged off on 26th January this year from Jagatsingpur . While addressing the media in the DRDA conference hall, he said that the spiritual leaders in the state were engaged in creating differences among people through their preaching by trying to highlight the superiority of their faiths .
Funds to the tune of crores have been spent to construct new temples while ignoring the poor condition of the existing old temples in the state , which was a national waste, he added . Highlighting the importance of creating harmony among the four pillars of democracy , he said that there was a need to have only a thousand committed youth to transform the nation towards real development and realizing the dreams of Swami Vivekananda .
While appreciating the acceptance of his mission among the tribals in the state he added that his trust would train 100 youth on spreading the real spirit of democracy in the rural pockets of the state so as to transmit its real spirit among masses .
Later he spoke in a public meeting which was organized in the Cultural Society of Koraput .
